meilani-karuna: If this is referring to me, I never called white people bad people at all.
I mainly unfollowed you due to the constant posting about white privilege. The tone in your posts about it makes me uncomfortable. I’ve basically unfollowed nearly every person of color because they…
This is the first time in a while that I have *personally with my own two thumbs* posted about white privilege. The rest have been reblogs and even those have been limited because I’ve definitely been posting about grad school for 80% of the time that I have been. Never once have I called white people bad people, not once so in the same instance that you feel like you’ve been lumped with other white people, you just did the same to me. I’m always open to discussions with people. I don’t name call and I don’t shame. Every single person that has ever come to me for discussions about race haven’t had any complaints. I’m not crying over spilled milk because it’s simply a mash of the unfollow button. White privilege .. It’d take too long for me to explain, but when you’re white in America, you are the default and the standard. That is privilege. However, since my posts makes you uncomfortable, I’m glad you eliminated yourself from the situation. You, along with countless others, failed to realize the point many bloggers, not just me have tried to make, and it is not my job to educate nor force because you are uncomfortable. In the way you speak, the removal of POC from your dash means you’ll never truly understand how we see white privilege because those who are not white know what it is. Thanks for being civil about it, at least.
good god am I glad I don’t follow this lady
